The techUK podcast - State of the Connected Home 2022

In this episode, our Head of Market Access & Consumer Technology Lewis Walmesley-Browne talks through the findings of the 2022 Connected Home report with Trevor Godman from GfK who led the research.

techUK, in partnership with GfK, is delighted to release the sixth edition of our annual State of the Connected Home report, which surveys a nationally representative sample of 1,000 adults across the UK to ask about their awareness, interest, and ownership of a range of connected or ‘smart’ home products.

While the UK connected home market is stabilising after rapid growth driven by Covid lockdowns in 2020 and 2021, we are seeing new areas of growth as consumer familiarity increases and they become interested in devices beyond the traditional entertainment domain (TVs, speakers) for a wide range of functionalities including home security, healthy lifestyles and, in particular, improving energy efficiency during the cost of living crisis.
