Lowering energy costs for UK tech

UK businesses pay the highest industrial electricity prices in the International Energy Agency, and our members consistently tell us energy costs are one of the greatest barriers to investing in UK tech. This campaign sets out why bills are so high, and what we're asking government to do about it.

As the UK's leading technology trade association, we're calling on government to move policy costs, known as levies, off electricity bills and into general taxation by 2029. This is one of the few levers within government’s gift to materially reduce energy costs. Here, we answer the questions we're asked most often about the campaign, in plain English.
