techUK launches new reports on how to strengthen local digital capital across the UK to support levelling-up
Over the past six months, as a part of the Building the Future We Need campaign, techUK held Digital Dialogues with more than 260 people across the United Kingdom’s nations and regions, drawing on their experiences and perspectives for the future and how tech can help support the economic recovery and future opportunities for growth.
The culmination of those seven Digital Dialogues, held in the North East, West Midlands, Scotland, Yorkshire and Humberside, North West, Wales, and Northern Ireland, is the launch of eight reports – one for each nation or region, and one that looks at the entire UK, tying together the common threads and providing concrete recommendations for Central Government, devolved governments, and regional mayors.
The reports draw on the significant contributions of each of the participants in the Digital Dialogue, their experiences, and their ambitions for what is to come. The reports set out the key action items that were consistent across all seven Digital Dialogues, with the primary message that digital innovation and greater levels of collaboration are key to helping level-up the whole of the UK. Using digital technology to adapt to the COVID-19 pandemic has shown all of us what can be achieved, and we need to carry that sense of purpose to build the future we need.
techUK will be hosting an event today to launch all the eight reports, featuring speakers from across the UK and a panel discussion about the report findings. Find out more about the event and sign up here.
All the reports and further information about the efforts of key stakeholders to strengthen local digital capital are available on our Nations and Regions hub.
