Awareness Day: Intelligent Networks

As the telecommunications industry accelerates toward a future defined by AI-native networks, we are calling on innovators, researchers, and thought leaders to share their insights and breakthroughs.

AI-native wireless technologies are not just an evolution—they represent a fundamental shift in how networks are designed, deployed, and operated. From self-optimizing Open RAN architectures to autonomous service management across 5G, 6G, Wi-Fi, and satellite systems, adaptive intelligence networks are becoming the cornerstone of next-generation connectivity.

We invite you to contribute:

  • Guest blogs exploring technical innovations, use cases, or strategic perspectives
  • Vlogs or video explainers showcasing real-world deployments or research
  • Expert quotes or commentary on the role of AI in transforming wireless infrastructure
  • Case studies or white papers that highlight measurable impact and future potential

Your contributions will help illuminate how AI-native principles—such as intelligent network automation, real-time data-driven decision-making, and closed-loop intelligence—are enabling networks that are more adaptive, resilient, and efficient.

To participate, please reach out to [email protected] or [email protected] and refer to our contributor guidelines.

Let’s build a collective narrative around the future of intelligent wireless systems. Share your voice and help shape the dialogue on how AI will redefine the fabric of global connectivity.

Key topics

These represent the main trends and reflect on the structure of innovation for adoption of AI across networks into the next generation of wireless software and end-to-end connectivity.

AI-native architectures

An AI-native architecture is one where artificial intelligence is deeply integrated across all layers of the system—from functional to deployment architectures—requiring pervasive data availability, distributed compute resources, and dynamic orchestration to enable intelligent, adaptive operations throughout the infrastructure.

Intelligent network design

These projects aims to revolutionize the UK's mobile telecommunications by developing an open, intelligent, and high-performing Radio Access Network platform that enhances software automation, supports interoperability through Open RAN principles, and delivers measurable system-level benefits.

Edge AI for next-gen connectivity

Edge AI is becoming essential, driven by demands for performance, privacy, personalization, and automation—requiring foundational advances in hardware, software, tools, and frameworks, alongside collaborative efforts to enable intent-driven, autonomous networks and AI-powered task automation.
