Digital Transformation in the Public Sector Week #techUKDigitalPS

This week 27 June - 1 July the Central Government Programme is running its Digital Transformation in the Public Sector Week and we will be exploring the technologies that can be deployed to support digital transformation in the public sector.

A different theme has been assigned to each day and we will be publishing blogs from both SMEs and large companies on their visions for the effective digital transformation of the public sector and the emerging technologies and innovations that will make it work. With the recent launch of the DDaT Playbook, we will also be exploring the cross-cutting priorities outlined in the Playbook such as remediating Legacy IT and levelling the playing field for SMEs, and the importance of collaboration between Government and Industry to create a digital government and increase efficiencies.

This is an opportunity for our members and stakeholders to look in-depth at the vital, innovative role they can play, and what the next leap in digital transformation in the public sector might look like.

On Tuesday 5 April, techUK was delighted to host the Cabinet Office and industry representatives for the launch event for the UK Government’s Digital, Data and Technology Sourcing Playbook which was published on 28 March 2022. The DDaT Sourcing Playbook sets out guidance – in one place – as to how digital projects and programmes are assessed, procured and delivered in central government departments, arms-length bodies and the wider public sector. Through the application of what is commercial best practice, the Playbook addresses 11 key policies and six cross-cutting priorities that will ensure government gets things right from the start when it comes to procurement.
