VAWG and RASSO Tech Working Group
Our VAWG and RASSO Tech Working Group provides a platform for collaboration, ensuring industry is connected with stakeholders across the Home Office, Crown Prosecution Service, Police Digital Service, police forces and the VAWG Taskforce. We bring together policing, partners and technology suppliers to support collaboration around the common challenges across VAWG and RASSO, including the prevention, detection and prosecution of offenders.
Maggie Blyth leads the VAWG Taskforce, established in 2021 to deliver a step change in the police response to tackling violence against women and girls.
The VAWG and RASSO working groups were first established in January 2023. The VAWG group launched following a kick-off event where Maggie Blyth set out policing’s digital strategic intent and the need for a platform for policing and partners to engage with technology suppliers. The RASSO group was established to align with and feed into the RASSO Tech Partnership Board.
We combined the two working groups because of the common challenges across VAWG and RASSO.
Our focus:
- Victim support and safeguarding (tech for good): Bringing together industry expertise to explore how technology can support victims and safeguarding.
- Prevention, early intervention and identification of perpetrators: Exploring the role technology can play across prevention, early intervention and the identification of perpetrators.
- Cross-sector collaboration and integration: Bringing together expertise across police, courts, the Ministry of Justice, victim services and industry to support greater collaboration and integration.
