The opportunity for localised tech reuse: Tech Rehome Network Fund

As part of our new ‘Tech for Environmental Outcomes’ series, techUK is hosting a webinar with Virgin Media O2 to share more about their new Tech Rehome Network Fund, for members interested in the role of trusted local organisations to build the networks cities need to keep devices in use for longer. By making it easier for organisations across cities to pass on unwanted technology, devices can be given a second life to help more people get online.

About this event

The Tech Rehome Network Fund is offering flexible grants to city councils, charities and community organisations of up to £100k, targeted to strengthen or scale up the device reuse system across a city over a one-to-two-year period to suit the needs of the city.

The initiative aims to improve digital inclusion outcomes for residents and generate practical learning to support device reuse at scale.

In brief, the webinar will cover:

  • Localising device reuse and the role of councils in circularly initiatives

  • Learnings from prior work and partnerships

  • Overview, context and ambition for the Tech Rehome Network Fund

  • Call to action for councils and businesses

There will be 10 minutes for Q&A at the end of the presentation.
