About this event
Join us on 9 September for the tenth US-UK SME Dialogue in Cardiff.
The US-UK SME Dialogue brings together SMEs from both sides of the Atlantic to discuss support for trade, investment and partnership. The Dialogue is convened by the UK Department for Business and Trade, the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative, the U.S. Department of Commerce, and the U.S. Small Business Administration, which are US government departments and private agencies responsible for both promoting small business trade and advocating for the interests of small businesses in the United States.
This delegation builds on our recent delegation to Washington DC and is an opportunity to connect and create partnerships directly with US and UK policymakers, as well as SMEs shaping the future of technology and trade on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean. It is also an opportunity to make any issues you face with trade over the Atlantic known to policy officials, and find partners for future trade across the pond.
With the UK and US looking to revive the Technology Prosperity Deal and engaging in discussions around the Economic Prosperity Deal covering digital trade, AI governance, and tech regulation, this will provide valuable context and access for UK tech businesses and policy teams navigating the US landscape and vice versa.
The delegation will offer a series of curated engagements with:
Officials from across the US Administration and federal agencies
US and UK tech SMES
UK civil servants
The agenda will provide:
Strategic insight into the regulatory and commercial environment for tech firms operating in or expanding to the US
An opportunity to explore obstacles to SME trade and potential remedies.
A view of transatlantic discussions on issues such as AI, data, digital trade, and supply chains
Whether your goal is commercial expansion or policy engagement, this delegation will help you to better understand and navigate the US tech and policy ecosystem at the current pivotal moment and build relationships with other companies operating across the transatlantic corridor.
