Cyber Resilience
Cyber resilience underpins the technologies we increasingly rely upon. techUK's Cyber Resilience programme brings together industry and government to strengthen resilience, shape policy and support the growth of the UK's cyber sector. Our focus:
- Convening workstreams from operational technology to national cyber policy
- Encouraging adoption of cyber technologies across key UK sectors and internationally
- Bringing industry expertise into cyber resilience policy development

Cyber security helps prevent attacks. Cyber resilience keeps operations running.
Cyber resilience is about ensuring organisations can prepare for, respond to and recover from disruption while maintaining the critical services people and businesses rely upon. From critical national infrastructure and public services to global supply chains and business operations, cyber resilience is increasingly essential to economic security and public trust.
Our Cyber Resilience programme brings together industry, government and other key stakeholders to strengthen the security and resilience of the UK's critical infrastructure, public services and our wider economy. This programme is part of techUK's wider cyber security, activity, connecting policy, growth and resilience initiatives in one place.
Members engage directly with policymakers, regulators and industry peers on the issues shaping the future of cyber resilience. Recent areas of focus include engagement on the Cyber Security and Resilience Bill, support for the UK's Cyber Resilience Pledge, operational technology security, supply chain resilience and emerging technologies, helping to ensure industry expertise informs policy development and national action.
Our current activity focuses on:
Providing members with market engagement opportunities
Influencing cyber policy development
Safeguarding critical national infrastructure
Championing cyber growth and investment
Supporting the secure adoption of emerging technologies
Members can get involved through events, working groups, consultations and collaborative initiatives that turn member expertise into national action.
Shape cyber resilience policy
Cyber resilience policy must reflect real-world challenges and, ultimately, deliver the intended security and resilience outcomes. We channel industry expertise into cyber policy development, including perspectives on national and international cyber regulations and measures to encourage security-by-design, and issues such as ransomware, AI-enabled threats and post-quantum cryptography. The focus is to help ensure legislation and guidance are effective while also fostering growth and innovation.
Protect critical infrastructure
Critical national infrastructure underpins everyday life across the UK – it encompasses entities such as our utility providers, communication networks and health and social care services. Through our workstreams on operational technology security, critical infrastructure safeguarding and supply chain resilience, we help convene experts to identify ways to help organisations strengthen the systems and services that our citizens and businesses rely on every day.
Collaborate with key stakeholders
We bring together organisations across the UK cyber ecosystem to share expertise, build connections and address common challenges. Through market engagement across public, private and international sectors, members gain insight, identify opportunities and build strategic relationships. Together, these activities support growth, investment and innovation across the UK's cyber sector.
