As a new Prime Minister gets to work and the pace of technological change continues to accelerate, the UK stands at a defining moment in its innovation story. From world-leading fundamental research to a new generation of scaleups pushing the boundaries of quantum, AI, robotics, photonics, and neuromorphic computing, the ingredients for global leadership are already here.
techUK’s fourth annual Tech and Innovation Summit brings together the innovators, investors, policymakers, and researchers shaping what comes next, exploring how the UK's regions, research institutions, and companies of all sizes can work together to turn scientific excellence into scaled, sovereign, commercially successful capability.
Across a day of discussion, showcasing, and celebration, the Summit will explore the full innovation pipeline, from the fundamental research that underpins discovery, through the funding, commercialisation, regulation and scaleup support that carry ideas to market, to the convergence of emerging technologies now moving from lab to real-world deployment. Delegates will hear from those defining the UK's position in low earth orbit compute, robotics, semiconductors, and more; debate where the UK should concentrate its efforts and where it must let go; and celebrate the innovators already operating at the cutting edge.

As a result, this year's Summit asks the central question facing the UK's innovation ecosystem: not whether we can compete, but how we focus, invest, and build to lead on the breakthroughs that define our next chapter and secure our future as an innovation nation.

Rory Daniels
Rory Daniels
Rory joined techUK in June 2023 after three years in the UK Civil Service on its Fast Stream leadership development programme.
During this time, Rory worked on the Government's response to Covid-19 (NHS Test & Trace), school funding strategy (Department for Education) and international climate and nature policy (Cabinet Office). He also tackled the social care crisis on secondment to techUK's Health and Social Care programme in 2022.
Before this, Rory worked in the House of Commons and House of Lords alongside completing degrees in Political Economy and Global Politics.
Today, Rory leads techUK's five-strong Emerging Technology and Innovation team, working with many of the UK's most innovative tech companies to convene experts and decision-makers, showcase best practice, shape government's thinking, and ensure the UK leads on developing and deploying transformative technologies.
The team's main areas of focus are AI Innovation, Quantum, Semiconductors, Robotics, Photonics, Neuromorphic, Innovation Policy, and Technology Convergence.
Rory sits on DSIT's expert Robotics Advisory Group, hosts techUK's Meet the Innovators video interview series, and chairs techUK's Emerging Tech Leadership Committee, comprising 36 senior leaders from the UK's most exciting tech companies. He has also judged the Global Space Awards, hosted London Tech Week's Deep Tech Stage, completed Stanford University's Tech & Entrepreneurship residency, and given oral evidence in a House of Lords Select Committee.
In his spare time, Rory enjoys photography, reading non-fiction (tech, architecture, design & geopolitics), and searching for London's best burger.

Ella Shuter
Ella Shuter
Ella joined techUK in July 2025 as Junior Programme Manager for Emerging Technologies.
In her role, Ella supports the design and delivery of four to six-month sprint campaigns. These identify emerging technologies of interest to members and Government, share industry best practice, champion relevant sectors and industries across the UK, and work through key challenges and opportunities to drive the development, application and commercialisation of these technologies.
Before joining techUK, Ella completed an internship at Digital Catapult, supporting across public affairs, policy and the organisation's programmes. She also has experience working in an MP's Parliamentary and Constituency Office.
Ella holds a BSc in Politics and International Relations from the University of Bristol.

Dora Pass
Dora joined techUK in October 2019 as an Events Assistant, coordinating and delivering our flagship events.
Prior to joining the team, Dora worked as a Senior Events Coordinator at the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors at Parliament Square managing conferences and high profile ministerial events.

Patricia Gonzalez-Urbina
Patricia Gonzalez-Urbina
Patricia joined techUK in February 2026 as a Junior Events Manager, where she supports the delivery of our flagship events.
Prior to joining techUK, she worked at the International Tennis Federation as a Senior Development Coordinator (Performance & Events). Patricia supported the delivery of major international junior events - including Junior Grand Slams and the 14&U European Tour - and helped expand opportunities for players from developing countries to compete internationally. She has also gained experience working in an MP's Parliamentary and Constituency Office.
Patricia holds a BA (Hons) in Politics and Hispanic Studies from Queen Mary University of London and has a strong interest in international development, politics and current affairs.
Outside of work, she enjoys travelling, socialising with friends, and staying active at the gym.
