The SAVVI project presented to the techUK Local Government Committee back in July.  SAVVI is one of the government funded projects in the MHCLG’s Covid19 Challenge Programme. The project is about proposing standards to help identify people and households who are vulnerable, and then coordinating multi-agency packages of assistance.

The project has held a number of workshops so far to hear how local authorities have used data to tackle the current outbreak, and also to compare that to tackling other vulnerabilities such as homelessness prevention.

The project is now ready to learn how some suppliers stepped in and helped local authorities; particularly

  • Data analysis to identify people at risk
  • Multi-agency working to provide assistance

We are holding a joint techUK / SAVVI workshop on the 10th December from 14:00 till 16:00.  We would welcome hearing from those that worked directly with a local authority during the outbreak. There will be the opportunity for some suppliers to briefly present how they worked with local authorities during the workshop.

The SAVVI project will also present how the proposed data standards are shaping up, and suppliers will have the chance to share their views on:

  • Could these standards be adopted into your products and services
  • Would they make your offering to local authorities more attractive?

Ultimately, this is a part of a bigger picture of an emerging place based ecosystem powered by standards and APIs, so the workshop will also spend a moment looking at some other related projects to see how it all fits together.
