The UK's digital identity sector stands at a pivotal moment. Government has ended the national digital ID scheme – but the underlying digital verification market has not stood still and continues to deliver services to UK citizens and businesses. At the same time, other schemes are moving forward: new use cases are being rolled out, conversations are underway about how digital ID could support the identification of AI agents, and the discussion around corporate digital ID is alive with new ideas and possibilities. Momentum is continuing to build. So now is the time for the sector to set out its own ambition for what comes next.

Session overview

Join us for techUK's annual flagship event, bringing together leading industry speakers, parliamentarians, government officials and the wider digital ID ecosystem, and be part of the conversation that defines what comes next for this transformative technology.

Discussion will be split into two parts. In 'Digital Identity's next decade', industry leaders set out where the UK's digital identity ecosystem should be in 1, 5 and 10 years, and the strategy needed to get there – including the opportunities from AI and international interoperability. We then turn to 'From vision to roadmap', where industry and government representatives consider what we need to do now – from an industry-backed adoption roadmap to GOV.UK Wallet interoperability – to accelerate adoption and build public trust.

This is your chance to help the sector speak with one voice and to shape the future of digital identity in the UK.
