Presentation summaries

Presentation One: Salesforce, Mulesoft, Tableau

“Integrating Care - the next steps to building strong and effective integrated care systems across England” - says the NHS. But in order to have true integrated care, you must be serious about true ‘interoperability’. How will everything connect and work together to ensure a seamless, efficient service out to the citizen? And never has that been more important than in 2020 when the Covid-19 pandemic hit and forced a different way of working for many.

Mridula Sori, Deputy Director of Products from NHSE/I will share their story on how since the start of the pandemic, the award-winning (Analysis in government award - 2020) analytical products team has produced over a hundred analytical COVID-focused dashboards in Tableau, made easily accessible via a single sign-on NHS England and NHS Improvement national and regional teams, systems, the Department of Health and Social Care, and NHS Trusts within a matter of weeks.

The dashboards provide essential insight into the impact of the pandemic on health and care services. In-depth analysis of hospital pressures from a national level down to individual hospital sites has helped leaders across the NHS make better decisions about how best to allocate resources in response to the pandemic.

Plus how MuleSoft’s Anypoint Platform™ offers healthcare providers and other healthcare companies easy-to-implement solutions for API integration and development. It’s one platform is used to design, build, secure, monitor, and manage APIs. The Anypoint Platform makes it easy for healthcare organisations to incorporate seamless integration and interoperability throughout an ecosystem. The platform offers a number of valuable components that make it easy to share information across applications, services, and systems — on-premises and in the cloud. These solutions enable connectivity that allows organizations to unlock their systems and data, so they can create powerful, cutting-edge APIs.

Presentation Two: Nottinghamshire County Council and Servelec - Strengthening Health & Social Care Interoperability for Discharge to Assess

Nottinghamshire County Council will be presenting their journey to sharing health and social care data alongside the software enabler, Servelec.

Discharge to Assess was built on Servelec’s Conexes platform and automates the discharge of hospital patients into social care if required. The platform supports the real time flow of data between Nottinghamshire County Council’s case management system, Mosaic, also provided by Servelec, and the electronic patient records (EPR) of the county’s healthcare trusts, where previously they were unable to communicate.

Providing staff at the council with an up-to-date view of patient progress and history, makes the referral process both quicker and safer, as there is less room for error or missed information. Having all the correct information in one place saves staff time and allows patients to be discharged sooner into social care support where needed. The solution also enables healthcare professionals to see up-to-date information on the support a patient is receiving once discharged into social care.
