The APPG for Broadband and Digital Communication will meet on 21 April for a general meeting to discuss future events and activity, to help further the rollout of broadband and mobile networks across the UK. The meeting will be chaired by Selaine Saxby, MP for North Devon.  

During the meeting, the APPG will examine some of the key topics in digital communications of today, including:

  • Levelling up agenda and the benefits of next generation connectivity for the UK’s nations and regions
  • Migration to All-IP/PSTN switch off  
  • 5G networks and enterprise use cases, such as healthcare and agriculture
  • Busting barriers to deployment  
  • Telecoms supply chain diversification and the security of our networks
  • The skills gap in the telecoms sector
  • Connectivity for road and rail corridors

The All-Party Parliamentary Group for Broadband and Digital Communication seeks to further the rollout of broadband in rural and urban areas, and to look at digital communication across the UK. Secretariat is provided by techUK, the trade association that brings together people, companies and organisations to realise the positive outcomes that digital technology can achieve. The APPG is chaired by Selaine Saxby, MP for North Devon.
