What’s in the Lords’ New Media Literacy Report?

 

On 25 July 2025, the House of Lords Communications and Digital Committee published its report on “Media Literacy”, following months of evidence gathering from business, academics, charities, educators and regulators. 

The report argues that the UK is falling behind internationally in equipping citizens with the skills to critically assess online information - particularly as AI-generated content becomes more widespread, and younger audiences turn to social media for news and entertainment.
