Scottish photonics innovator targets growth in China with support from Intralink

Skylark Lasers, a diode-pumped solid-state (DPSS) laser specialist, has appointed international business development consultancy Intralink to accelerate its growth in China.

Based in Edinburgh, Skylark Lasers develops cutting-edge lasers for high-precision industries including semiconductor manufacturing, advanced industrial processes and scientific measurement. Its globally recognised technology is selected by customers for its stability, accuracy and reliability – qualities essential for improving efficiency, enhancing production quality and driving innovation in fast-evolving sectors.

Following significant recent investment to support its international growth, Skylark Lasers is targeting the rapidly expanding Chinese market, where demand for advanced laser technologies is surging across the semiconductor, precision metrology and quantum sectors.

Intralink’s Shanghai-based team has been tasked with driving a business development programme on behalf of Skylark Lasers. This will include in-depth market analysis to identify priority opportunities, followed by a targeted engagement campaign with key manufacturers, research institutes and industry stakeholders. Plans also include a multi-city roadshow to showcase Skylark Lasers’ technology and connect with potential customers across China.

Christopher Madin, CEO of Skylark Lasers, commented: “Our unique laser technology can help companies in many of China’s most advanced industries provide an even higher level of service to their customers.

“Having already worked successfully with Intralink in a previous role, I know its teams deliver excellent results in complex markets.

“The Shanghai team’s detailed understanding of the way business is done in China, and its strong local network will be invaluable as we scale up our operations and build a stronger commercial presence in the country.”

Headquartered in Oxfordshire, Intralink helps companies secure customers, partners and investors overseas, and enables government agencies to grow their exports and attract foreign investment.

The company has a presence in 27 locations including Shanghai, Beijing, New Delhi, Tokyo, Seoul, Taipei, Singapore, Bangkok, London, Paris, Silicon Valley, Boston and Toronto.
