Nominations are now OPEN: Scale-Up Council
Nominations are now open for techUK members to join our Scale-Up Council. The Council is a group of representatives of companies in techUK's membership who work together to oversee the strategic leadership and direction of techUK's scale-up programme, including policy positioning and outputs.
There are 15 spaces on the Council, with one Chair and one Vice-Chair position available for election by the newly formed Council.

techUK is committed to improving diversity, equity, and inclusion across our leadership bodies, and encourages members to put forward diverse representatives that will bring a range of views and experiences to the Council.
Timelines for nomination and elections
Only one person per company can put themselves forward for a seat on the council.
- Nominations open on Tuesday 7 May.
- You will be given 2 weeks to complete your form (deadline: Tuesday 21 May)
- Should we receive more nominations than we have spaces on the council, we will have an election period (timeline TBC).
- All submitted forms will be sent out to the Scale-Up Council asking them to vote for who they wish to have a place on the committee. It will be only one vote per company.
- The new committee will be notified: Tuesday 27 May.
- The new committee will be publicly announced: Wednesday 28 May.

Neil Ross
Neil Ross
As Associate Director for Policy Neil leads on techUK's public policy work in the UK. In this role he regularly engages with UK and Devolved Government Ministers, senior civil servants and members of the UK’s Parliaments aiming to make the UK the best place to start, scale and develop a tech business.
Neil joined techUK in 2019 to lead on techUK’s input into the UK-EU Brexit trade deal negotiations and economic policy. Alongside his role leading techUK's public policy work Neil also acts as a spokesperson for techUK often appearing in the media and providing evidence to a range of Parliamentary committees.
In 2023 Neil was listed by the Politico newspaper as one of the '20 people who matter in UK tech' and has regularly been cited as a key industry figure shaping UK tech policy.

Mia Haffety
Mia Haffety
Mia joined techUK in September 2023.
Mia works to ensure that the UK policy and regulatory environment promote investment into the tech sector, recognising the role of digital and emerging technology towards future growth and productivity.
Prior to joining techUK, Mia worked as a Senior Policy Adviser at the Confederation of British Industry (CBI) within the Policy Unit.
Mia holds an MSc in International Development from the University of Manchester and a BA(Hons) in Politics and International Relations from the University of Nottingham.
