Monday 10 June

 

London Tech Week Opening Ceremony
9.30 – 12:30 | Plexal, Here East (invite only)

techUK President, Jacqueline de Rojas, will kick-off proceedings at London Tech Week by delivering a keynote address at the opening ceremony at Here East, within the fledgling tech hub in the east of the city. At the event will be senior leaders from both Government and industry and a must attend for setting the week’s agenda.

 

Making the UK the destination of choice for healthtech innovators
9:00 - 13:00 | techUK 

With special guests, Rt Hon Matt Hancock MP, Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, and Matthew Gould, Chief Executive, NHSX, this techUK event is being held in partnership with DHSC, NHSX, DIT, the AHSN Network and DigitalHealth.London. The session will feature input from 100 healthtech innovators from large and small suppliers; along with policymakers and partners from across the health and care landscape.

 

CogX 2019 - The Festival of AI and Emerging Technology (10 – 12 June)
9:00 - 18:00 | King's Cross

CogX 2019 will see 500 speakers from across industry, academia, government and technology including and cover a range of topics on our 12 stages. The festival strives for diversity of perspective across our speakers, encouraging conversations and debates from contributors from different disciplines, geographies and backgrounds.

techUK's Anthony Walker, Sue Daley and Jacqueline de Rojas will all be speaking over this two-day event.

 

Tuesday 11 June

This event is part of Bloomberg’s flagship technology series, with annual editions in North America, Asia and Europe. CogX 19: Digital ethics and the world of work

10:00 - 11:00 | King's Cross

This panel, which is taking place on the Future of Work & Education stage at CogX 2019, will focus on what digital ethics means for employees and the world of work. The panel of industry and business leaders, chaired by Antony Walker, Deputy CEO at techUK, will discuss the ethical questions and concerns being raised in the workplace by the development and adoption of new technologies and how these can be addressed. 

 

The Best of Nordic/Baltic (fin)Tech Summit
12:00 - 18:00 | Rise London  

A unique Nordic/Baltic showcase and matchmaking event convening Nordic, Baltic, UK and global (fin)tech/startup ecosystem leaders to showcase the best Nordic & Baltic (fin)tech innovations and create new partnerships.

techUK's President Jacqueline de Rojas will be doing a keynote speech at this event. 

 

MIDAS skills event
12:00 - 14:00 | 2 London Bridge

At this panel event, a selection of those companies will share insights on how to attract tech talent in an era of digital transformation. Attendees will find out how TalkTalk, Raytheon and Slalom are addressing the issue using short and long-term strategies. Afterwards, delegates will have the chance to network and have lunch with those companies as well as peers.

techUK's Giles Derrington, Associate Director for Policy, will be moderating the event.

 

Developing a London-wide connectivity approach
14:00 - 17:00 | techUK

techUK is working with the Greater London Authority on this workshop to bring together Boroughs and telecommunications providers to explore the options for making available Council assets to support potential 5G deployment requirements, and to arrive at an approachable way of working closely together. This workshop will have presentations from both boroughs and telecommunications providers and will consider options for the use of street furniture going forwards.

techUK Supercharging the North Drinks Reception at CogX 19

Join techUK for a networking drinks reception being held at the IBM Pavilion at the CogX Expo. This event will bring together tech leaders and key stakeholders from the North of England with CogX attendees from around the world. The event will kick off with an introduction from Antony Walker, Deputy CEO techUK and Jacqueline Davey, Vice President Enterprise Industry & Commercial Business, UK & Ireland, IBM.

 

Alconics Awards 2019 
19:00 - 23:00 | Kensington Palace 

The prestigious global AIconics Awards are back with a Royal twist to celebrate the best in Artificial Intelligence for business. The awards bring together emerging start-ups to Silicon Valley royalty alike (plus the corporates/VCs/ethical innovators) for the most prestigious event in enterprise AI.

 

Wednesday 12 June

 

Innovation Festival 2019
08:30 | Leonardo Royal Hotel, Invitation only

The event will bring together corporate innovators and entrepreneurs for a day of thought-provoking keynotes, engaging panel sessions and multiple networking opportunities all with the aim of exploring how corporates and the start-up/scale-up community can collaborate better.

The AI Summit
9:00 - 21:00 | ExCeL Exhibition Centre

This year's AI Summit will welcome more speakers than ever before with over 70 CxOs and global AI visionaries who will cover everything from business strategy to technical skills across 15 dedicated theatres! 

 

Mission Critical Technologies 2019 (11-13 June)
9:00 - 17:30 | ExCeL Exhibition Centre 

Mission Critical Technologies 2019, which aims to address the global public safety market needs to be quicker, smarter and more efficient at keeping citizens safe. It will bring together over 1200 public safety professionals including delegations from the Emergency Services Network (ESN), NPCC, NFCC, Microsoft, Motorola as well as Rt Hon Nick Hurd MP, Minister of State for Policing and Fire Service, who will be delivering a keynote.

techUK is hosting a session on 12 June that will focus on unmanned and wearable technology updates and the techUK Interoperability for Policing working group, chaired by Mark Goosens, Client Director for Home Office and Police, IBM will be held at 9:30 on 13 June.

 

Digital Safari
9:30 - 13:00 | Ernst & Young, 1 More London Riverside

techUK is partnering with the Department for International Trade to introduce our members to its Digital Safari programme. The Digital Safari will cover different investment related themes, including venture capital, legal, financial, scale-up, and others. The careers fair style session will offer businesses an opportunity to connect with the UK’s technology ecosystem.

 

AR/VR Summit at TechXLR8  (June 12-13)
9:50 - 17:00 | ExCeL Exhibition Centre 

The AR/VR World Summit, part of London TECHXLR8, explores how businesses are adopting immersive technology and where the biggest opportunities are for this technology. Speakers from all sectors will look at how they overcame barriers to adoption, got the right infrastructure in place and share case studies and examples of how immersive technology helped their business grow.

techUK's Craig Melson will be hosting day two of this summit.

 

CogX 2019: Meet the next generation
12:30 – 1:30 | King's Cross

Join Jacqueline de Rojas CBE, June Sarpong, Tabitha Goldstaub, Sherry Coutu CBE and Dame Wendy Hall as they discuss the pressing issues for young people in tech and how we can best support them to thrive in an ever changing digital world. The panellists will be joined by with Elena Sinel, the founder of Teens In AI and Tess Posner, CEO, AI4ALL and also be talking to members of the Girl Guides and the Cyber First Girls Challenge winners to get the perspectives of young people themselves.

 

AI and the NHS: Forging a healthy future

techUK and DeepMind are hosting an evening event bringing together industry and policymakers in AI and health. This event will assess the landscape for AI and health tech investment in the UK and discuss how we forge a healthy future for AI and the NHS. The panel will be chaired by techUK’s Associate Director for Technology and Innovation, Sue Daley.

 

The Future Starts Here: The UK-Asia Pacific opportunity
14:00 - 19:30 | One Sekforde Street

Hosted by Natalie Black, HM Trade Commissioner for Asia Pacific, in partnership with the UK-ASEAN Business Council and techUK, this conference will bring together innovators from the UK and Asia Pacific to explore opportunities for cross-border collaboration in tech and innovation.

Future of Work Summit

The Future of Work Summit will look at the two key factors driving the shift towards the unknown ‘future of work’ – technology and demographics and explore some important questions including; how can we create robust yet flexible workforce planning processes, how has technology changed jobs so far, what are the skills that will be required for the future, and how do we prepare for a future not yet defined?

techUK's Jacqueline de Rojas is Master of Ceremonies for the day and Chair of techUK's Skills and Diversity Council, Sarah Atkinson, will be speaking on the panel: Mind the (Skills) Gap - Preparing for an Uncertain Future.

 

SES Ultra HD Conference 2019
9:00 - 20:30 | techUK 

The event will have broadcasters, from the BBC, Sky, Insight TV, Travelxp 4K, and from 4K programme makers such as Paramax Films on how their UHD plans are evolving, and what the market is buying. Our examination at the state of the market draws together the statisticians, technologists, broadcasters and retailers to discuss the state of the industry, and the prospects for broadcasters – and viewers – for the rest of 2019 and 2020 and beyond.

 

Meeting the Denver Delegation
11:00 - 12:00 | techUK

techUK will be hosting a group of Denver-based technology CEOs and C-Suite executives travelling to LTW. The mission has been launched by the City of Denver to promote the exchange of innovation and entrepreneurship between Denver and London and explore opportunities to promote closer collaborations between the two technology ecosystems. UK-Australia Tech Fry Up

HM Trade Commissioner for Asia Pacific, Natalie Black, is inviting techUK members to a lunch meeting with the Startup Catalyst delegation from Australia. The lunch meeting will provide a relaxed space for participants to explore potential partnerships between the UK and Australian tech ecosystems. Places are strictly limited to 12 techUK members. Building Your Profile in the Cyber Sector - Q4TheLoo

In 2018, techUK helped launch the Queue for the Loo initiative; a series of events and online resources aimed at women in the cyber security sector. Attendees at the event will explore how individuals and various career stages can develop a higher profile within the sector, hearing from a number of experienced industry leaders.

 

Fintech Matchmaking

This session will offer innovative tech start-ups the opportunity to meet leading organisations and commercial partners in the financial sector to help them solve R&D challenges. Confirmed participants include Barclays, Fidelity International, HSBC, Lloyds Bank, Natwest Markets, UBS, BAE Systems Applied Intelligence, Citi Group, Deloitte Ventures and Deutsche Bank.

UK India Tech Alliance Meeting
10:00 - 13:00 | techUK

As part of the broader UK-India Tech Partnership formed in April 2018 between both the UK and Indian governments, techUK has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Indian tech trade association, the National Association of Software & Services Companies (NASSCOM), under which both associations have formed a new UK-India Tech Alliance.

The Alliance brings selected senior tech leaders from both countries together to offer a sounding board and expert advice to the UK and Indian governments on the UK-India collaboration for enhancing skills, advancing new technologies, encouraging innovation and developing policy which ensures that both governments nurture the growth that is seen in this sector and beyond.
