A One Page Business Plan for Government Digital Services

A new way to approach the central government Digital Business Model: combining corporate business modelling, agile best practice and HM Treasury governance.

I am fortunate enough to work in a niche that is engaged with by large organisations across central government, higher education and the corporate sector. Something I thought might be of use is to triangulate across all three - thereby leveraging governance, efficiency and agility.

The result (or rather a rough first draft) is proposed below. Taking the Business Model Canvas[1] from the for-profit sector, combining it with Government Digital Service agile guidelines, and adding techUK's own Three Point Plan, the result is a one page 'Government Service Model Canvas'.

The objective is to provide central government service and delivery managers with a simple one page tool to validate their business model for a proposed digital service.

Given that this is a first draft, unofficial alpha - feedback is most welcome! Download the alpha below.
