techUK responds to Sir Mark Walport's review on The Internet of Things

Rob McNamara, Associate Director, techUK: "The Walport Review, is an important step for the UK towards harnessing the full potential of the Internet of Things. The report has three particularly commendable elements: the focus on practical applications across multiple industries; the UK's global advantage in terms of both technologies and skills; and the recommendations made, which strongly echo those made in techUK's manifesto.

These recommendations make clear the importance of the Internet of Things to the UK economy, and the need for government to take a leading role in its implementation. This can only be achieved through an ambitious programme of industry collaboration to ensure that the right skills and regulations are in place to enable to the UK to take full advantage of this fast growing industry.

Following the publication of this report, techUK calls on Government and industry to work together to turn the potential of IoT into a reality."
