Lockdown: Scotland Guidance

The Scottish Government has published a framework indicating the order in which they will seek to change current restrictions. The publication followed confirmation that lockdown restrictions in Scotland would begin to be relaxed from 28 May, and schools are to reopen on 11 August.

Corporate Insolvency and Governance Bill

The Government has introduced the Corporate Insolvency and Governance Bill in Parliament, which aims to relieve the administrative burden on business during the current crisis.

Under the Bill there will be temporary easements on filing requirements and AGMs, while also suspending parts of insolvency law and introducing new restructuring tools to the insolvency regime.

Antibody Testing and Contact Tracing

A deal for 10 million antibody tests has been signed by the Government, with the tests to be rolled out from next week. Meanwhile the Prime Minister announced that a COVID-19 tracking system will be in place by 1 June as Apple and Google released software updates to allow tracing apps to work.

DIT Post-COVID-19 Tech Recovery Strategy

The Department for International Trade published a survey for tech businesses to inform their strategy to support the community in the recovery stage of COVID-19.
