Vaccine Manufacturing and Innovation Centre

Over the weekend the Government announced it would be opening a dedicated Vaccines Manufacturing and Innovation Centre 12 months ahead of schedule.

The new centre, which is already under construction, will be given a boost of £93m to accelerate construction. A further £38m will establish a rapid deployment facility this summer.

Quarantine at arrival

Self-isolation requirements for individuals arriving into the UK look set to apply regardless of their mode of transport. It is thought that the exemption list is being tightened and will be agreed at a Cabinet Committee on International COVID-19 issues later this week.

techUK is calling on the Government to ensure key staff working on digital connectivity and infrastructure are exempt. If you believe your business may be affected by these new measures, please write to our dedicated mailbox.
