New head of the local digital collaboration unit at Ministry for Housing & Local Government announced
May-N Leow from Southwark Council has been appointed to lead the future work of the Local Digital Collaboration Unit. In her role at Southwark Council, May-N regularly engaged with techUK and the wider supplier community. We were pleased to have her as a guest on our latest podcast ‘collaboration for local public services’ where she spoke about the importance of early market engagement.

Science and Technology Committee releases report on Digital Government
techUK was pleased to provide both written and oral evidence to the Science and Technology Committee’s inquiry. The report focuses on a few key areas: Government digitisation, levers for transformation and cultural, technical and institutional challenges.

The Local Digital Fund is opening to new applications
According to the latest Local Digital newsletter collaborative projects that were funded in the first round have recently been invited to apply for further funding. Decisions on successful applications will be made in the week commencing 19 August 2019, and projects will be completed by 31 January 2020. They will be opening the Local Digital Fund to new collaborative projects on 19 August 2019, information will be announced on the Local Digital website.
