    Energy & Water Innovation | Future of Mobility Services | IoT

Government gets moving on urban mobility services. The Government announced on 19 March the benefits that it wants to see from innovative new mobility services, the principles that it will judge these services against, an ambitious regulatory review and a programme of funding to help spur them in its Future of Mobility: Urban Strategy. The Strategy echoes many of the issues that techUK raised in it's Future Mobility Services in October.

Buses Minister Nusrat Ghani has announced £4 million for a platform which will provide location information about services – giving greater certainty to passengers about when their bus will arrive. 

Water Industry Show and Tell | Riding the Wave of Innovation. We are gathering key stakeholders to discuss key challenges and opportunities for tech Innovation in the Water. Come and join us on 16 April, from 13:30 until 18:00.

Our Future of IoT event series returns with a look at Manuf-Action, examining how IoT is enabling a step change in manufacturing in the UK. Along with our partners Experis and High Tech Bristol and Bath, we will once again be at the Watershed venue in Bristol on 25 April 12:00 - 18:00, where attendees will have the chance to hear from and network with leaders in the field of IoT as well as manufacturers, particularly those from the defence and aerospace industry. Innovator Challenge: Smart Heating and Cooling
Following a successful pilot with digital energy innovators, Energy Systems Catapult is launching a new Incubator and Accelerator – offering SMEs tailored support to de-risk innovation, help their businesses scale and secure investment. Incubation or Acceleration Support will be offered by the Catapult’s Innovator Support Platform, with Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) selected from two Innovator Challenges each year based around the smart energy system. Innovators are invited to apply (full details here): Innovator Challenge: Smart Heating and Cooling. The deadline for receipt of application is Friday, 5 April 17:00 2019.

Highways England is funding 2 parallel competitions for solutions and ideas designed for use on UK roads. This competition is for proven feasibility projects at development stage (higher TRL).

UK and South Korea: joint research and development

The UK and South Korea announce a joint funding competition for R&D projects under the EUREKA programme. UK businesses can apply for a share of up to £1 million.
