Health & Social Care Newsletter | 2018 Highlights Package

Dear Kate,

As we wrap up the year (and Christmas presents!) we look back on a busy programme working with the best and the brightest influencers and leaders in the DHSC, NHS Digital, NHS England, social care, DIT, AHSNs, the tech industry and many more. Here are a few of our highlights.

Thanks to all those who cast their votes for our Health and Social Care Council. We are delighted to welcome three new and three returning members. Thanks again to all those who applied, the competition was certainly tough.

If you haven't yet signed up to be a mentor for the NHS Digital Academy, there is still time. Find out how to apply here.

There are plenty of interesting events in January to keep the winter blues away. Topics include the Health Systems Support Framework, cyber security, Programme Cortisone, and children's services. Read on for details.

And finally, I am moving back home to South Africa in the New Year. I've had such an interesting and enriching experience at techUK, and it has been wonderful working with you all! Wishing you all the best, and please do look me up if you're ever in South Africa (it's a great place for a holiday!).

techUK will have a new Health and Social Care Programme Manager soon, but in the meantime, look after Ben for me!

Hope you all have a very merry festive season and a fun and adventurous 2019.

Best wishes,

Kate Francis

Time: 10:00 – 13:00, with lunch and networking to follow
Location: techUK

LGiU's State of Local Government Finance survey 2018 found that Children’s Services is now the top immediate pressure for councils, ahead of Adult Social Care for the first time in at least three years. Many councils are struggling to shield these services from the worst of the ongoing budget cuts in local government. We will bring together local government and tech industry representatives for a problem-led workshop on these challenges. Register here.
