Accelerating the pace of digital transformation in the NHS

It is already clear that in the last three months there has been more digital transformation in parts of the NHS than in the previous 10 years combined.

In a sector where tech adoption has often been as slow as getting a new drug from benchside to bedside - why, and how, has so much been achieved so quickly? Are there lessons to be applied as we reopen and reshape health and care services?

Dr Jonathan Bloor [pictured on the right], medical director of the System C & Graphnet Care Alliance and member of the techUK Health and Social Care Council, analyses the organisational and political changes that have made the NHS embrace innovation in its response to COVID-19, and cautions against a return to the way things were before.
