DfE and Partners deliver unprecedented device Programme

techUK is delighted to share an early insider's glimpse of the Department for Education's ambitious programme to provide laptops and tablets for disadvantaged and vulnerable children - a mission to procure, configure and deliver over 200,000 digital devices in fewer than 80 days.

This impressive story showcases how the UK’s tech industry came together under challenging circumstances to deliver this unprecedented programme, creating an entirely new IT user base that we hope will be able to harness the power of technology to learn now, and for years to come. This programme was designed, contracted and executed in just over 10 weeks – demonstrating how the scale, expertise and agility of leading British tech companies can help the government to deliver rapid infrastructure transformation in support of the needs of society.

As the programme draws to a close, we look forward to learning more from the innovative tech companies that worked together to make it a success.
