Matt Pullen from CyrusOne joins Data Centre Council

The UK Council of Data Centre Operators has recently appointed Matt Pullen to help the group in its work setting strategic direction for activity and providing governance for techUK’s data centres programme

techUK is delighted to welcome Matt Pullen, Managing Director Europe for CyrusOne, to the UK Council of Data Centre Operators.  With over 20 years’ experience in the sector, Matt’s appointment will strengthen the Council’s knowledge and capabilities.  Matt brings with him exceptional breadth of expertise and his extensive relationships in the corporate community and his in-depth understanding of the property investment dynamics of data centers will be invaluable.  Matt’s commitment to strengthening relationships with key policy stakeholders and elevating standards for best practice in the data centre industry across Europe.  These attributes make him a perfect fit for the Council.

techUK’s Data Centres Council was established in 2009 and provides a representative voice for the UK data centre community on matters of policy, reputation and compliance.  The Council has been responsible for delivering a number of significant outcomes for the sector, the most notable of which was negotiating a Climate Change Agreement for Data Centres.  Most recently, the Council has catalysed a reappraisal of the sector within government which resulted in the establishment of a dedicated team, key worker status for data centre staff, protection for construction sites and quarantine exemptions. Comprising senior decision makers from across the industry, the Council is the single most influential body representing data centres in the UK.
