techUK is proud to announce that it has raised £2500 for Crisis, the UK's national charity for homeless people

Last year, at techUK’s Digital Ethics Summit 2019, we decided to raise money for Crisis, the UK’s national charity for homeless people, to help provide warmth and comfort to some of the country’s most vulnerable people over the cold winter season.

A core theme of the 2019 Summit was centred upon putting ‘ethics into action’ and how we can ensure that work on digital ethics delivers a genuine benefit to people’s everyday lives. With this theme in mind, it seemed fitting for us to seek to raise money for those who need it most, with just £28.87 reserving a place for a homeless person in the Crisis Christmas Centre, where they are able to access education, training and support.

We are proud to announce that we have exceeded our initial target of £2000, raising £2500 to help Crisis offer invaluable support for homeless people and tackle homelessness across the UK. This wouldn’t have been possible without the incredible support of our donors, and techUK would like to thank each and every one of you that donated to our fundraiser.

But it’s not too late to donate, and Crisis work year-round to provide a wide range of support services for homeless people, whether they be focused on housing, education, employment or well-being and safety. If you would still like to contribute to this worthy cause, you can do so by visiting our JustGiving page here.

Following the generous donations and success of our 2019 fundraiser, we will be raising money again this year for techUK’s Digital Ethics Summit 2020. If you have any ideas on how we can make our 2020 fundraiser an even greater success, please don’t hesitate to get in touch!
