Communications for Industry - Update on DEFNET

Following our previous communications in August. The DEFNET project team would like to provide an update on the re-baselined go-live dates for the DEFNET project which will be delivering access to DEFNET for our MoD Disadvantaged & Industry Partner User Communities due to the closure of the legacy Defence Intranet.

The project team will now be completing an internal testing phase in December/January to test the solution as part of the Alpha Phase which will not include any engagement with Users. A Beta phase is now scheduled to commence from the 3rd February to the 21st February 2020. The Beta phase will consist of a closed working group of approximately 70 users who will test alongside the project team to test the solution in the live environment. Post completion of a successful Beta trial in February 2020, Interim Authority to Operate (IATO) will be sought and the scheduled roll-out of access to DEFNET will commence from the 5th March 2020.

Further information regarding the provisioning and request process for access to DEFNET will be shared shortly with a detailed FAQ document to provide Users with an understanding of key questions for our User Communities.

Please be assured that the Defence Intranet will continue to be available to our impacted Users until we have provided access to DEFNET.

If you do have any questions you can contact the team on the following email, ISSOps-IndustryCustomerComms@mod.gov.uk.
