UK Defence & Security Competition: Communicating and Analysing Future Insights

Communicating and Analysing Future Insights in Innovative Ways

Deadline: 27 April 2018 for submitting proposals

The Defence Future Insights project are looking for innovative ways to communicate and analyse future concepts by developing up to five ‘Future Fictions’ and demonstrating up to five analytical tools.

FUTURE FICTIONS: To create ‘artefacts’ or ‘visualisations’ that can bring to life future concepts. Examples include movies, science fiction, holograms, prototypes, models, or combinations of mediums.

FUTURE ANALYSIS TOOLS: Exploring analytical tools to generate the ‘so-what’s’ for defence and security innovations: identifying the tools, techniques and methodologies needed to inform policy formulation and future capability definition.

They are running a competition to find novel, bold ideas to create ‘uncomfortable knowledge’ and would like to see as many applications as possible. The first stage is a simple one-page proposal (at the link).

They are happy to answer any clarification questions and will share the answers on this page. Any questions asked by the 4th of April will be answered by the 6th of April. Any further final questions asked by the 13th of April will be answered by the 18th of April.
