Support a Focus Series
Focus Series provide opportunities to explore the issues shaping technology, innovation and digital transformation. By supporting a Focus Series, organisations can align themselves with influential discussions and engaged audiences.
What are focus series?
Our focus series bring together events, insights, thought leadership and engagement opportunities around a shared theme or technology area.
They help our members to explore trends, challenges, opportunities and emerging developments over an extended period.
Members are invited to support focus series in a variety of ways, including by submitting insights or videos, speaking at events, writing case studies, or contributing to reports. Details of the support required can be found under each opportunity.
Demonstrate expertise
Associate your organisation with key topics, technologies and industry priorities.
Shape industry dialogue
Contribute to discussions that influence thinking across the technology sector.
Reach engaged audiences
Connect with communities that have a direct interest in the topic area.
Increase visibility
Benefit from ongoing visibility throughout a programme of activity rather than a single event.
Guidelines for writing for techUK
Our insights are the main way we demonstrate our influence and put across our and our members’ opinions. When developing guest insights for techUK, please work within these parameters:
Keep the main body between 400 and 600 words.
Choose a title that is no more than seventy characters. Titles that are any longer may have to be edited before we publish.
Include a 150-character description that includes the author's name and title. This will appear in a description box.
Break down the different sections of the blog with clear sub-headings. If appropriate, please include a list to make it easy for the reader to navigate the different sections in the insight.
Use links to other related relevant content that would be useful to the reader.
Share the full name and title of the spokesperson that you wish the piece to be attributed to.
Share with us any imagery (spokesperson headshots, etc) that you would like us to include in the body of the guest insight.
Share the links to all your social channels (e.g. LinkedIn, X) for promoting the guest insight on our socials.
To maintain the integrity of our insights as industry-level opinion and commentary, please also:
Avoid describing and discussing the attributes or applications of specific company brands, products or services where possible. This may only be acceptable if they provide an example for a higher-level discussion point that would be of interest to the broader industry and are not discussed in great amounts of detail.
Do not take the format of a company case study unless specifically agreed in advance.
Use hyperlinks so that readers can extend their exploration of the subject matter further.
Link to recent news and topical subjects.
Make the insight as relevant to the specific subject as possible.
Please note:
We do not accept articles that have been, or appear to have been, written by AI.
We cannot accept guest insights that have already been published somewhere else - we will only accept insights that are either original or have text variations from what has been previously published on other websites. This is because it would damage both websites' search engine rankings and visibility, resulting in fewer people viewing it.
techUK reserves the right to exercise its editorial judgement. Editorial decisions to publish, or not to publish, a submitted article are made at our discretion.
If you have any questions or would like to discuss any ideas, please do get in touch with marcomms@techuk.org.
