2018 was a real blend of policy focus and market engagement in techUK’s IoT Programme. We began the year with one of our biggest events of 2018 - the Future of IoT event in Bristol, which was in partnership with Experis and High-Tech Bristol and Bath, held at the Watershed. We were delighted to welcome over 170 people to the event, as well as those that joined the conversation online via #IoTBristol.

After a successful year of working with HACT, we continued our engagement in 2018 hosting the Future of Assisted Living Briefing paper launch. The paper looks at what the UK’s housing sector ambitions are for new technology in ‘retirement living housing’ for older people and independent living services. The launch was also an opportunity for our members to submit their proposals and ideas with a chance to be invited to pitch at the UK’s largest housing event, the Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH) Housing 2018 Conference in Manchester. Following that, we also held Technology in Social Housing 2018 - Innovation Launchpad Showcase with HACT, to demonstrate the potential for technologies to assist Housing Associations in a range of problem and challenge areas.
