Outcomes: Working with institutional, non-governmental and industry partners, techUK has brought information and international trade opportunities to our members. We helped our members to save both time and money researching markets and sourcing opportunities for tech via our regular International Trade’s Events & Opportunities communication and monthly International Trade Newsletter.
Throughout the year, we have also partnered with other organisations and the UK Government on events and conferences to provide our members with discounted/free access to participation in events, such as London Tech Week, the UK China AI Summit, the India Britain Trade Expo, UK-India Week, TEMS Africa ICT Expo, and others.
As the official partner of Tradefair – an organisation which supports overseas exhibitions in partnership with DIT – we have also provided techUK members access to DIT’s grants to exhibit at a number of major international events, such as Mobile World Congress, CABSAT, Gitex Technology Week, CES, IBC, NAB, ConnecTechAsia, CommunicAsia, NXTAsia and BroadcastAsia, Integrated Systems Europe and others.
We have also engaged in international policy work and lobbied on behalf of the industry for trade and investment policies that are fit for the digital age. For example, we influenced policy makers in the UK and internationally to encourage policy and market developments that reduce costs and risks associated with international trade, including our work on FTA consultations for the USA, Australia/NZ, Japan, and CPTPP, G20 activities, tech hub establishments, India’s changing data policy landscape, utilisation of apprenticeship levy by tech companies, China’s data access regime, and others.
