Formation of a BSI Committee on Blockchain and DLT

Following the approval of Standards Australia's proposal to lead and manage the secretariat of an international technical committee for the development of blockchain and distributed ledger technologies, the first international meeting will take place at the beginning of April 2017. BSI will be hosting a session at techUK to canvas interest of those who might be willing to form a UK committee to feed into the ISO process as well as inform those who are unfamiliar of the standardisation process.

It is anticipated that the primary focus of this group will be around issues such as terminology, governance, smart contracts, Financial Services and interoperability rather than 'pure' technical issues. BSI will be hosting an initial meeting to form the UK committee in the New Year and are looking for a UK committee chair and other potential leadership roles in the international committee.

If you wish to attend the session and if you are also interested in any of the leadership roles mentioned, please contact tim.mcgarr@bsigroup.com and ian.richardson@bsigroup.com
