Understanding your technical debt in critical national infrastructure

About this event

Asset lifecycles increasingly stretch beyond ten years, putting pressure on system safety and existing technical investment as digital technologies, including AI, move faster than ever. Getting the design right from the start matters, along with a clear understanding of who the adversaries are and how risk is managed. Meeting standards isn't always straightforward and often needs careful interpretation rather than a tick-box approach.

This roundtable will look at why compliance and convergence aren't the same thing, and what that means in practice for IT and OT teams. Many OT departments are building their own IT capability to keep pace with digital technologies like AI, meaning they need a stronger grasp of IT – the standards and the ways of working. Attendees will discuss who's really responsible for compliance, whether it's an IT issue, an OT issue or a cultural one, and how to bring compliance and culture together.
