Following the publication of the Defence Investment Plan, UK Defence Innovation (UKDI) Deputy Director James Gavin will return to update members on UKDI's investment priorities for 2027 (particularly disruptive counter-UAS capabilities) and the relationship between Military Strategic Headquarters (MSHQ).

About UKDI

UK Defence Innovation was established in July 2025 within the National Armaments Directorate Group to simplify the Ministry of Defence's innovation landscape. It has a ringfenced budget of £400m a year.
