techUK is hosting a drinks reception for members and stakeholders in association with BT, on 6 December 2017. This is the third reception hosted by techUK within the last year and it will bring together two programmes; Data and Internet of Things for an evening of networking and an opportunity to get hands on with some exciting tech demos.
This relaxed social evening event is free-to-attend and will provide the opportunity to meet potential new business partners, customers and peers. The event will bring together around 100 leaders from tech companies from challenger new entrants to established players operating in the data and IOT markets.
BT will be showcasing a number of emerging technologies in IOT and big data analytics that are changing our digital lives.

Chris Sims, Managing Director, Marketing & IoT, BT
As a Managing Director in BT Wholesale & Ventures, Chris is responsible for serving some the UK’s best known consumer and business brands. He also leads BT’s “Internet of Things” business unit, a technology which has the power to fundamentally change the way people live, work and do business.
Chris has had a varied career at Orange, EE and now BT. As Commercial Director of EE, Chris managed a portfolio of EE’s commercial and marketing activities and has had first-hand experience of how mobile technologies can touch people’s lives. In fact the common thread that weaves throughout his career is his extensive experience in using mobile technologies to improve the lives of customers across the UK, EU and emerging markets.
Julian David, CEO, techUK
Julian David is the CEO of techUK. He was appointed as the director general of Intellect in March 2012 and led its transformation to techUK in November 2013. Julian leads techUK's 60 strong team in representing more than 950 member companies, including multi-nationals and more than 500 SMEs to ensure that the digital tech industry is at the heart of a modern society and economy in Britain. He is also a trustee of the Tech Partnership which works to promote careers and skills development in the Digital Technology Industry and a Governor of Putney High School.
