Review of AI HLEG’s Trustworthy AI Assessment List

In December 2018 the European Commission’s High-Level Expert Group on AI (AI HLEG) published draft Ethics Guidelines for Trustworthy AI. The Trustworthy AI assessment list presented in Chapter III is currently undergoing a piloting phase by stakeholders. The responses collected in this survey, jointly with other feedback collected via in-depth investigations carried out by organisations that develop or deploy AI, will be used to review this list. The aim of the list is to produce a workable instrument for organisations, to support and guide trustworthy AI practices. The intention is for a revised version of the assessment list to be presented to the European Commission in early 2020.

To help inform techUK’s response to the stakeholder survey, we will be convening members to assess and critique the assessment list on Monday 9 September, 10:00-12:00. During this meeting we will seek your feedback on the ease of understanding, completeness, relevance and feasibility of implementation of the list.
