Experis' partner event on the Big Data Market Update with speakers including Martin Ewings, Director of Specialist Markets & Sue Daley at techUK

Big Data is one of the most powerful tools in an organisation’s arsenal. If used correctly, it allows businesses to make more informed, strategic decisions; it can unveil new growth opportunities and threats; it can help them understand their customers in greater depth; and it allows employers to better optimise the performance and productivity of their workforce. With the ability to drive business success in so many ways, it’s no wonder that Big Data has become increasingly important in the workplace.

In just over a year’s time, the much-discussed General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) legislation will come into force. Whilst this generates a number of opportunities, the implications of GDPR for businesses are likely to be considerable. With tougher penalties of up to 4% of an organisation’s annual global turnover or €20million (whichever is greater) and a wider definition for ‘personal data’, the pressure is on for organisations to get their data practices in order to ensure they comply.

As a result of these factors, businesses are beginning to wake up to the impact of Big Data, with our latest Tech Cities Job Watch Report highlighting that demand for Big Data professionals has increased by 51.7% in the past year.

This event will be a great opportunity to discuss the opportunities and difficulties that Big Data presents for organisations in the UK, as well as highlighting how this will change over the coming years.

Our guest speaker at the event will be Sue Daley, Head of Cloud, Data, Analytics and AI at techUK. Recognised in the UK Big Data 100 as a key influencer in driving forward the Big Data agenda, Sue is an expert in this area. An additional 10-15 leaders from other organisations will also be in attendance.

Places at this exclusive event are limited, so register today to secure a space.
