Gambling Commission Market Engagement Event

Time: 9:30 – 12:00 + Lunch
Date: 25 March 2019
Venue: techUK, 10 St Bride Street, London EC4A 4AD

The National Lottery licence is due to expire in 2023 and the Gambling Commission is keen to engage with tech companies and lottery operators ahead of the fourth National Lottery Licence Competition.

The world has changed since 1994, when there were only four TV channels in the UK and no smartphones and there have of course been major developments in technology channels available to operators and changes in consumer behaviours since the last licence was last awarded. and The Commission is wishing to engage with all sectors of the industry to listen to their views and, during Formal Market Engagement, test the Commission’s draft policies and strategies for the 4th National Lottery Competition.

As they Commission prepares for the competition, the Gambling Commission – the UK’s independent, statutory body responsible for awarding licences to run the National Lottery – is undertaking a process of Initial Market Engagement to identify the best ideas, innovation and experiences to create a National Lottery that is fit for the future.

This event shall highlight how to:

  • engage with the Commission during Market Engagement,
  • the current national lottery landscape of the national lottery,
  • the vision for the future state,
  • the commercial and competition plans,
  • view from a lottery beneficiary,
  • how the Commission propose to test and validate draft policies and requirements; and
  • the next steps in the process and how the industry can engage in this process

This is an exciting opportunity to get involved in shaping the way the 4th National Lottery could operate and continue to generate money for good causes in to the future.

Due to expected numbers that are expected to attend, The event shall be on a first come basis and 1 one person per organisation shall be allowed. If your colleagues from different areas of the business would also like to attend, we will put them on a reserve list and confirm closer to the day.

The entire event shall also be beamed live on a worldwide webinar therefore all shall be able to participate either in person or online. The details for the webinar link shall be confirmed to you after registration  for the event on the link below.
