Girls in STEM are ‘People Like Me’

Join us to find out more about ‘People Like Me’ goes digital designed to attract more girls into STEM subjects and careers

Last year, techUK joined the WISE Campaign to launch a tailored version of WISE's “People Like Me” - careers in a digital world. The pack is for teachers, parents, and STEM Ambassadors, offering a novel and effective approach to teaching girls about careers in and around the digital industries. In 2017, we are making the pack digital. Join techUK, WISE and CA technologies as we outline the next steps in this exciting project.

Together, we can  transform girls’ perception of STEM careers. Through the digitisation of People Like Me, our vision is to widen the reach of the resources, providing an opportunity for meaningful engagement with young women across the UK. We want to create a “heat map” of the UK showing where the People Like Me programme has been delivered face to face and online.   Developing an online training offer will allow us to scale up the number of ambassadors equipped to deliver People Like Me sessions as part of their outreach and engagement programme.
