Promoting effective Delivery across Defence Digital

In September 2019, Maj Gen Richard Spencer and David France arrived in ISS (now Defence Digital, Service Delivery and Operations) to assume responsibility for the delivery of the portfolio of project and programmes that were the remit David Lynam, the previous Director for Service Development. During this session, Rich and Dave will set out how they are approaching the shared responsibility of delivering a single coherent portfolio of delivery. They will also outline how they have agreed specific accountabilities for each of their roles, with Dave leading delivery of Core Information Services while Rich focuses on Intelligence and Expeditionary Services.

The session will allow Dave and Rich to set out their strategic priorities, how they will interface with the wider Defence Digital organisation, how they see their roles developing over time and their approach to working with suppliers.

There will be an opportunity for a Q&A session to continue the discussion and allow you to understand better how you interface and seize the opportunities on offer to work with Defence Digital in the coming years.

As part of the wider discussion it would be useful if you could consider the following questions from Rich and Dave and there will be an opportunity for you engage in a discussion around these issues:

  • What are the key inhibitors to working with Defence Digital and how do you suggest these are addressed?
  • What opportunities do you think Defence Digital are missing and why?
  • How do we best communicate with you to get the best from the widest set of suppliers?
  • How can you best support Defence Digital to meet Defence’s digital needs, and do you feel we enable you to do this?
