A Vision for UK Digital Trade Policy, techUK report launch

techUK will be launching our report A Vision for UK Digital Trade Policy at techUK, 10 St Bride Street at a special event on Monday 13 January 2020 from 8.30 – 10.00.

The report sets out 12 business backed digital trade principals to support the UK’s development of a successful digital trade policy. The report launch will make techUK one of the first major business representation groups to set out UK businesses priorities for UK digital trade policy.

Our report not only seeks to serve as guide for the UK’s own approach to digital trade, but we believe will provide the basis for the UK to campaign against protectionism and support the digitisation of trade.

techUK plans to take the report to Washington, Brussels and other international forums to make the case for reducing barriers to international trade, services liberalisation and campaigning against protectionism in the digital trade space, and to ensure that the UK tech industry makes it’s voice know in among an international as well as a domestic audience.

The launch will include remarks from techUK, external speakers and a panel discussion on ‘digital trade in the era of protectionism’, with networking with professionals, academics and policy makers in digital trade policy to follow.

Please join us for what will be a thought provoking and informative discussion on how the UK crafts a successful digital trade policy after Brexit.

Event begins at 8.30 with doors open at 8.15:

The event will be opened by techUK CEO Julian David and remarks from a speaker from the UK Government (TBC)

This will be followed by a panel discussion on digital trade in the era of protectionism, chaired by techUK's head of Trade Policy Sabina Ciofu with panelists from Deloitte, Sage and David Henig, UK Director of the European Centre For International Political Economy, further speakers TBC.

There will then be an opportunity for networking and refreshments afterwards with techUK members, policy makers and academics.

*This event is free to attend for both techUK members and non-members
