The MOD holds a vast number of different datasets across its organisations, programmes and estate. This complex and rich data offers vast potential for MOD to adopt new and emerging technologies which can quicken modernisation efforts across the Frontline Commands and drive efficiencies at time when spending is constrained.
This session will explore how MOD is already endeavouring to better leverage the data it holds. This will include examining the MOD approach to date, both at the strategic level and within the FLCs, and particularly assessing whether workstreams are well aligned and coordinated effectively. Discussion will include how industry and MOD can better collaborate around data, learning key lessons from other sectors and identify best-practice. Attendees will explore how industry, both traditional and non-traditional suppliers, can help the MOD to transform the way it both gathers and exploits data, in turn helping the department to reduce costs and improve capability.
Discussion will also touch upon some of the key challenges MOD faces such as safely and securely sharing sensitive data, classification and ensuring a coherent approach across MOD.
