With the MOD now making a concerted effort to uplift military space capabilities through its commitment to a Defence Space Strategy, and the RAF assuming command and control of all UK military space operations, the military domain of space is one in which information capabilities and technologies will play a critical role in the future. If the MOD is to deliver on its strategic objectives as part of the anticipated strategy, which include: enhancing space resilience and operational effectiveness, optimising space support to the front line and supporting wider Government activities, then it will need to ensure that it understands what technologies & capabilities are being developed by the Communications & Information Systems (CIS) community.
In partnership with the MOD’s Cyber & Space Policy Team, along with representatives from the RAF as the leading FLC for Space, this event will examine how the MOD can best understand and exploit the products and services developed by the CIS community, and look at the role of information systems/technologies as it seeks to integrate Space issues into its capability development and training activities.
