The growing threat of a cyber attack to an organisation’s industrial control system (ICS) is now a reality, forcing operators in the industrial sector to reassess how ICS, and specifically industrial controllers, are protected. Recently, we have seen an increase in the number of cyber incidents targeted at ICS networks with research from Kaspersky suggesting that over 40% of ICS were attacked by malicious software at least once in the first half of 2018.
It is therefore clear that ICS networks pose a unique challenge to cyber security professionals and, as the sector continues to experience a proliferation of integrated operational technologies and the Internet of Things (IoT), these challenges will only grow and become more difficult to manage.
This briefing will address the escalating cyber risk and resilience challenges associated with the growing adoption of new technologies in ICS environments and give attendees further insight into the various threats facing operators, from malware to insider threats, and tips on how companies are responding.
