Briefing on DSTL approach to Innovation and R&D

This joint techUK DRTF and ISF Briefing will be an opportunity to discuss DSTL and wider MOD’s approach to innovation and engaging with emerging technologies. The MOD continues to make significant progress in engaging with new technologies like AI, machine-learning and data analytics, and speakers will discuss what they see as the key areas for development amidst a backdrop of significant budget constraints.

Speakers will discuss how DSTL are trying to better engage with a wider array of suppliers, including non-traditional defence players. A key area for discussion will centre around how Defence can better leverage R&D activities across related sectors, ensuring that MOD is able to access cutting edge technologies and services.

Attendees will also discuss the different organisations involved in innovation activities across MOD and how this can be better utilised and leveraged by the FLCs going forward. The event will also allow speakers to ask industry to illustrate ways they could further support MOD’s efforts in this area.

Speaker: Andy Bell, CTO, Dstl
