This techUK/EnergyUK event will explore the key cyber security challenges facing the energy sector

This joint techUK/EnergyUK event will explore the key cyber security challenges facing the UK energy sector and examine the impact of the NIS Directive one year after implementation.

Traditionally Cyber Security had not been a key focus of the UK energy sector, neither at Government or industry level. But as the NIS Directive came into force and the risks around cyber more clear in the face of high profile UK cyber-attacks, cyber security has come into sharper focus for companies involved in energy. One year on from NIS implementation, attendees will discuss how the energy sector has fared in comparison to other CNI industries grappling with the risk management and developing key cyber security processes which NIS demands.

Attendees at this event will also look at a number of operational factors which pose threats and challenges to the UK energy sector, including access to cyber security skills, the risks associated with IoT and ever growing device numbers as well as the emerging cyber technologies that offer protection from a widening threat landscape.
