Investigative cyber and digital forensics: a Q4theLoo event

The next Queue for the Loo event will take place on the eve of International Women's Day, Thursday 7th March 2019, at Thales in Reading (350 Longwater Avenue, Green Park, Reading RG2 6GF) and will look at women in the investigative cyber and digital forensics domains. Hosted and sponsored by Thales, the event will be followed by a networking reception.

Speakers will include:

Robert Longbottom – Cyber Security Capability Lead – Thales

Tom Chapman - Director – Iceberg

In 2018, techUK helped launch the Queue for the Loo initiative; a series of events and online resources aimed at women in the cyber security sector. The initiative, spearheaded by Sian John of Microsoft, will include quarterly networking events for female cyber professionals to network, exchange ideas and find mentors.

According to a recent study, the proportion of women in the UK cyber security sector stands at just 8 per cent, one of the lowest proportions in the world, with men earning an average of 16 per cent more than women. This initiative looks to not only create a stronger network between women in cyber but also to encourage them to do more to get others to consider their options in this space.
